How to fit a guard to a RYOBI Angle Grinder

Before you begin: 
REMOVE BATTERY OR DISCONNECT FROM POWER

Step Action
1 It's important the grinder is always fitted with the guard before use, and (if included in your model), the additional clip-on guard if you are cutting.
2 You must always disconnect the power (battery or chorded) before installing or removing the guard. 

To fit the guard: 
REMOVE BATTERY OR DISCONNECT FROM POWER

Step Action
1 Disconnect the grinder from power (disconnect battery or power chord).

Place the guard on the grinder housing with the grooves aligned (arrow indicators are on the tool and the guard).

Once locked in, press the button on the guard to Adjust the guard to the desired position.

Pressing the button will allow you to adjust the guard. It's important that the guard is in place to protect the hands of the operator - see below examples:

Note

If your Angle Grinder comes with a clip on guard, it’s important you fit it to your tool before cutting. This will help contain sparks and potential debris while cutting.
