How to prevent swirl marks with my Ryobi Sander?

Avoid swirl marks for a smooth, professional finish. 

• Keep the sander moving continuously try not to linger in one spot. 
• Apply only light pressure; let the sander do the work. 
• Switch to finer grits as you progress toward the final stages of sanding.
