Angle Grinders are commonly equipped with several user safety and tool protection systems, such as overload, over-temperature, and anti- kickback.
Consider the following that could be causing the issue:
Cause |
Solution |
Excess Force |
- Excessive force will slow the motor significantly, which can overload the protection system, causing the tool to cut out.
- Try reducing the amount of downwards force applied to the workpiece.
|
Angle of application |
- Your Angle Grinder may be cutting out if you’re cutting the material at an angle that’s leaning or tilting onto the disc.
- To prevent any excess force or load on the disc, make sure the material you’re cutting is properly supported using clamps, and is on an even surface.
|
Battery |
- Ensure your battery has enough charge.
- There may be a small drop in performance to the tool when the battery is below half charge. If it’s affecting your application, we recommend fully charging your battery.
- The capacity (Ah) of battery can affect the performance. We recommend a minimum 4.0ah Battery when Grinding, see What size battery is recommended for my Angle Grinder?
