The RYOBI 18V ONE+ Stapler is capable of driving staples into wood, upholstery (fabrics), plastics, paper/cardboard, carpet underlay, insultation and even to secure fencing wire and wire screen (with the right accessory).
If you find your Crown Stapler isn’t powerful enough to drive staples, it may be due to these reasons:
The ‘Depth Of Drive’ Dial requires adjusting
- The Dial is located at the rear of the tool as seen in the image below (4).
- Always remove battery before adjusting the Depth of Drive dial
- Rotate dial clockwise to increase driving force,
- Rotate dial anti-clockwise to decrease driving force.
The Crown Stapler may not be the suitable tool for the material you are using
- For example, this Crown Stapler can be used into soft wood ie. pine but would not be suitable/capable for driving staples into Hard Woods ie. Tasmanian Oak or Merbau etc.
- Consider whether the material you are trying to work with, may be too thick for the Crown Stapler to penetrate and attach to.
- Confirm that the ONE+ battery has sufficient life/charge for the Crown Stapler to continue operating. A lack of Driving force may also stem from a drained battery.
