Battery performance troubleshooting
- Is a suitable battery being Used?
- This tool performs best with a 4Ah battery or higher for optimal runtime.
- The higher the Ah (amp-hour) rating, the longer the runtime.
- If using a battery lower than 4Ah, consider upgrading to a higher-capacity battery for better performance.
- Does the task require a capacity larger Battery?
- If the battery does not last long enough to complete your task, a larger capacity battery may be needed.
- Larger batteries provide longer runtime, especially for demanding applications.
- Check if the issue is with the battery or the tool?
- Try inserting a fully charged battery into the tool to see if it starts.
- If the tool works with a different battery, the issue may lie with the original battery.
- Is the battery too hot?
- To prevent damage to the tool or the battery, Ryobi 18V batteries will cut out (thermal overload protection).
- Simply wait 30min until the battery cools down.
- Are you storing the tool and battery in a cold area?
- Cold temperatures can reduce battery performance and runtime.
- Keep the battery and tool warm (not hot) when not in use.
- Consider using an insulated battery jacket if available.
- Is the bit Sharp?
- Dull or damaged bits will severely reduce the performance of a router.
- Is there a build-up of dust and debris?
- Accumulated dust and debris inside the Trim Router can affect performance and increase heat and noise.
- Regularly clean the Trim Router’s base and housing to maintain optimal operation.
