- A Thicknesser, also known as a Planer-Thicknesser is essentially a benchtop version of a hand planer.
- It’s used to plane wood to a consistent thickness throughout its length.
- They can also be used to square off posts while at the same time removing any bowing. They are most commonly used to turn very rough sawn or 2nd hand timber to a very smooth finish.
