RYOBI Impact Driver Bit breaks

12/12/2024, 21:04

Bits can break for several reasons:

  • If the Bits are the wrong type or size for the screw or fastener, this will cause excessive stress on the Bit, resulting in it breaking. This is common when using Phillips head and Posi drive screws, as without proper inspection, the Bits look similar.
  • If the tool is not firmly held while driving, the Drill Bit may slip or unseat, which could damage the Bit or the fastener. It's also a common reason for stripping the head of a screw or fastener.
  • Using non-impact-rated Bits (usually a grey steel colour) in high torque and high impact applications.

Replacing Bits with good quality impact-rated Bits should solve this issue.
