Troubleshooting orbital sander activation
For all models
Allow the tool to cool: If the tool is overheated (thermal overload protection) the tool will need to cool before turning on again.
Unplug from power or remove the battery before cleaning.
Dust and debris can accumulate in the sander over time, leading to performance issues.
Clean the sander’s air vents, dust collection system, and any other parts that might be clogged.
For battery models
Step 1: Remove the battery.
Step 2: Check the charge level. If low or empty, recharge.
Step 3: With the battery removed, inspect the sanding base assembly for any wear or obstructions.
Step 4: Once fully charged, re-insert the battery into the tool and retry.
Step 5: To check if the battery is defective, try it in a different tool to determine whether the fault lies with the battery rather than the sander.
For AC (Corded) models
Step 1: Unplug the unit from the mains power before inspecting the cord for any signs of damage or fraying. If there are any signs of damage do not use the product.
Step 2: With the sander unplugged, check the sanding base assembly for any wear or obstructions.
Step 3: If the cord has no damage of fraying, plug back into a working mains power outlet.
If the Issue Persists
If the problem isn’t resolved and the tool is still within the warranty period, return it to Bunnings along with your receipt or proof of purchase for a warranty assessment.
