How to Make Fine Cuts with a Ryobi Jigsaw
A fine or clean cut requires the right blade and proper technique.
Choose the Correct Blade
- Use a fine finish blade with a less aggressive tooth pattern for smooth, precise cuts.
- Blades with higher TPI (teeth per inch) produce finer cuts:
- 18–24 TPI blades are ideal for fine and ultra-fine finishes.
- Ryobi offers a 20-piece Wood & Metal Jigsaw Blade Set (RJBWM20S), which includes fine and ultra-fine finish blades for a variety of projects.
Cutting Technique
- Operate the jigsaw smoothly and steadily—avoid moving too fast or too slow.
- Practice on an offcut or scrap piece before cutting your final workpiece.
- Set the pendulum (orbital) action to a low setting to reduce aggressiveness and improve cut quality.
- Keep the saw shoe firmly in contact with the material for stability and accuracy.
