Avoid long, heavy use without breaks
Detail sanders heat up quickly after prolonged use.
Give the sander regular breaks and allow time to cool before using again.
Check air vents and dust bag
Keep hands away from air vents and ensure they are not blocked.
Periodically check for obstructions and clean out any dust.
Verify the dust bag exhaust is clear. Remove the dust bag and ensure the exhaust is free of debris and the bag is not overflowing.
Avoid excessive pressure
Do not press down hard on the sander.
Let the sanding motion do the work—excessive pressure can cause the sander to stop and lead to premature wear.
Ensure sanding pad and sandpaper are secure
Check that the sanding pad is firmly attached to the sander and the sandpaper is properly installed.
Inspect sandpaper for wear
Replace sandpaper if it is excessively worn or clogged, as this affects performance.
Use appropriate speed settings
Select the correct speed for your material and task.
High speeds may cause the sander to stop if too aggressive for the surface.
