Can you sander plasterboard with a Ryobi Belt Sander?

Do not sand plasterboard with a belt sander 

We do not recommend sanding plasterboard walls with a belt sander because these tools are too aggressive. 
Not only will they damage the surface, but the fine dust can also harm the internal motor.
