Check dust collection bag assembly
RYOBI Belt Sanders include a dust collection bag or a port for vacuum connection.
• Ensure the bag or vacuum system is properly attached and functioning to prevent dust buildup.
Inspect dust extraction hose
Blockages or kinks in the hose can restrict airflow.
• Clear any obstructions to maintain effective dust removal.
Maintain the unit regularly
Dust buildup on the belt, rollers, or inside the sander affects performance.
• Clean the sanding belt, rollers, and internal components regularly.
• Empty the dust collection bag or clean the vacuum filter frequently.
Avoid High Humidity Environments
Moisture can cause dust to clump and clog the system.
• Work in a dry, well-ventilated area whenever possible.
Use Appropriate Grit Sandpaper
Coarse grit or aggressive sanding creates more dust.
• Consider finer grits and slower sanding to reduce dust production.
