What do the flashing lights mean on RYOBI 18V Multi Chargers?

This LED guide applies to the 18V ONE+ 6-Port Charger (model RC18640) and the 18V ONE+ Dual Port Charger (model RC18240):

Evaluate Hot battery pack Flashing OFF When battery pack reaches cooled temperature, charger begins fast charge mode.
Evaluate Cold battery pack Flashing OFF When battery pack reaches warmed temperature, charger begins fast charge mode. 
multi port charger - defective

 

Defective Defective Flashing Flashing Battery pack or charger is defective.
• If defective, try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and reinstalling the battery pack. If the LED status repeats a second time, try charging a different battery.
• If a different battery charges normally, it's likely an issue with the battery. 
• If a different battery also indicates "Defective," the charger may be defective. If defective and it’s still within the warranty period, take it back to the retail store along with your receipt or proof of purchase for warranty assessment.
multi port charger - fast charging Charging Fast charging OFF Flashing Battery pack is being charged.
multi port charger - taper charging Charging Taper charging OFF Fading Battery pack is being charged at lower rate. 
multi port charger - fully charged Full Charging complete OFF ON Battery ready to use.

 

This LED guide applies to the Ryobi ONE+ 18V 6-Port Supercharger (model RC18627U): 

Charger LED Indicator LED Function Battery Pack Action
Red on Battery In Waiting Battery is standing by awaiting it's turn to charge.
Red flashing Testing Deeply discharged Charger pre-charges battery until normal voltage is reached, then begins charge mode.
Red fading Defective Defective Battery pack or charger is defective.
  • If defective, try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and reinstalling the battery pack. If the LED status repeats a second time, try charging a different battery.
  • If a different battery charges normally, dispose of the defective pack.
  • If a different battery also indicates “Defective,” the charger may be defective. If defective and it’s still within the warranty period, take it back to the retail store along with your receipt or proof of purchase for warranty assessment.
Green flashing Charging Charging Battery is charging.
Green on Charged Battery full Charging is complete
Green fading Energy Saver mode Battery full / energy save mode Battery pack is fully charged and charger is in Energy Save mode.
Orange flashing Temperature Delay Hot battery pack When battery pack reaches a cooler temperature charging will begin.
Cold battery pack When battery pack reaches a warmer temperature charging will begin.
